Why I Decided to Start This Blog

I’m a Christian. This is a Christian blog and I will center on the truths that Christianity can bring to your life. Not a progressive truth or a relative truth, but an objective truth. If you’re looking for hope in a dismal world where the next day seems pointless and the future elusive, you’ve come to the right blog. I offer encouragement to those who are looking for meaning, purpose and answers in their lives.

If you’re an intellectually honest atheist, agnostic or humanist who is willing to consider where the evidence in science, archeology, and the historical written record leads, I encourage you to read on and investigate. The worst that can happen is that you’ll educate yourself and be familiar with some of the arguments. The best that could happen is an eternal life of happiness. If you’re a Christian who thinks everyone but you sucks then I’ve got something for you here as well.

A. W. Tozer wrote, “A real Christian is an odd number anyway. He feels supreme love for One whom he has never seen, talks familiarly every day to Someone he cannot see, expects to go to heaven on the virtue of Another, empties himself in order to be full, admits he is wrong so he can be declared right, goes down in order to get up, is strongest when he is weakest, richest when he is poorest and happiest when he feels worst. He dies so he can live, forsakes in order to have, gives away so he can keep, sees the invisible, hears the inaudible and knows that which passes knowledge.”

Just a Bit About Me

I was an agnostic and a confused one at that. I spent years searching for the answers to all the questions we all so commonly have. I read the Egyptian Book of the Dead, twice, I read books and studied Eckankar which led to my leading a group after about a month. I studied dreaming for almost 15 years along with astral projection and remote viewing. I read the entire Carlos Castaneda Series and found it fascinating, and soul searching. I read books by Lao Tse and touched on Confucius. I found out that Buddhism is an atheistic path and although he had some profound insights, he could do nothing to save my soul.

I did everything I could to avoid the Christian Faith. I found most Christians to be “a bit wacky” and never falling short of giving you a good finger wagging. It wasn’t until I met my wife in 1991 and she asked me to consider the Christian Faith. After years of studying apologetics and listening to countless sermons, Christianity ended up being the only religion that had all the answers for my life and beyond. Although I was grateful for the knowledge I’d acquired from all the other religions I’d studied, it became clear to me that they could not offer salvation or a savior who would take away my sins. I started to study Christian Apologetics and I’ve yet to find anything that could turn me away from Christ. That was since 1991.
